Ingredients
- Broccoli – 1 medium sized, sliced into small florets
- Grated coconut – half cup
- Onion – 1 small chopped
- Green chilly – 2-3 slit
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tspn
- Mustard seeds – half tspn
- Dry red chillies – 2 nos
- Urid dal – 1 tspn
- Curry leaves – a spring
- Salt as required
- Oil – 1 tblspn
Method
- In a heavy bottomed pan, splutter mustard seeds, followed by dry red chillies and curry leaves. Now add chopped onion and green chillies. Saute until the onions turn transparent. Add turmeric powder
- Add broccoli florets and salt. Mix well. Cover and cook for 2- 3 minutes. Sprinkle water if required.
- Open the lid and stir fry until the water content has gone. Add grated coconut and mix well. Broccoli thoran is ready!
